BRIAN STEVENSON: (VOICE / HARP / SYNTHS) Brian is a classically trained vocalist and world traveled singer / songwriter who studied with nationally acclaimed Vocal Coach Al Kohen well versed in Classical Folk Country Blue Grass R&B Soul Funk and Rock styles of singing. Brian had an early start performing in Musical Theater & Church Choirs. Recent Accolades include beta testing for the new TC Helicon Voice Live 2 in which he has a featured video on the TC Helicon website & maintains an avid relationship with the company. He is actively committed to Child Protection Women‚Äôs Rights Natural Causes and spreading God‚Äôs Love & Teachings to the global community. CHARLES LENIHAN: (GUITARS / BASS / SYNTHS) Charles has been playing music professionally since the young age of 19.The success of his first band‚Äôs underground release on Relativity/ Combatcore Records afforded Charles the Opportunity to pursue many musical ventures and he went on to become a well-respected and highly regarded music industry professional. Among the talents he has worked and studied with are John Petrucci of Dream Theater Al Petrelli of Asia and Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Jazz greats Pete Rogene and Joe Carbone at 5 Towns Music College. One of his industry accomplishments was being an instrumental part of arranging the collaboration of Dream Theater (then known as Majesty) with Steve Sinclair of MCA‚Äôs Mechanic Records leading to the band‚Äôs signing and eventual success. Charles is also an accomplished song writer and is proficient at recording production and programming. Charles has now applied his talents to his growing spirituality and that has been reflected in his music and song writing. His inspiration has lead him to joining with uJiya a band that Charles intends to serve as a vehicle to inspire entertain and enlighten. ALEX ALGARIN:(BASS / GUITAR / VIOLIN / VOICE) Alex is an accomplished bassist & Guitarist from Tampa Bay Florida. Classically trained on guitar as a teenager Alex went on to play and record rock funk blues and folk in various Tampa Bay area bands. Alex’s spiritual life path has greatly influenced his music and he has now found a perfect fit with uJiya as a string player and songwriter. In addition to working with uJiya Alex is now an ardent student of violin practicing under the direction of Florida Orchestra Principal Second Violinist Sarah Shellman. Alex is also a published author having written the workbook “SUCCESS! A Practical Guide.” JEAN BOLDUC: (DRUMS / PERCUSSION / ETHNIC SAMPLES) uJiya welcomes world class drummer Jean Bolduc to the line up. Jean is a spirited drummer and percussionist. Whether simple or complex Jean‚Äôs playing breathes with each song‚Äôs message. In addition to performing and teaching he dedicates his talents to the world of audio engineering working as audio technician/engineer on various diverse projects with artists Deep Purple Chaka Khan Ronnie Milsap Bobby Wommack Morris Day & the Time The Gap Band Gloria Estefan The Doors of the 21st. Century The Isley Brothers Dave Mason and many others. Since the early 90‚Äôs Jean has been invited to work as audio technician on the TV Broadcast of Univision‚Äôs annual Latin Premio awards working with artists Shakira Enrique Iglesia Celia Cruz Juan Gabriel Olga Tannon Cuban Masters and others. Nina‚Äôs clear voice resonates in her passionate acoustic originals, captivating celtic airs, and rousing community drumming experience. Nina wrote the music for “Unity Blessing” which is now sung at most Unity Churches and New Thought churches around the world. Her varied training allows her to engage the creative body mind and Spirit in each person through her music and the art of drumming. Nina‚Äôs music can be heard in the DC Metro area and beyond at local venues wineries churches retreats and house concerts. Nina co-facilitates drum circles for retreats festivals on-going drum circles and recently for wounded warriors the Walter Reed Army Hospital. She is the former Director of Music for Unity Life Center Chantilly teachers music/drama the Montessori School of McLean is on the faculty at the Northeast Montessori Institute founder of the No. VA New Moon Hoop for women and owner of FLYng LLC Aviation engineering and Arts consulting.
My Interests
Very interested in the healing effects of music and drumming; like to support musicians in this genre being heard and experienced. Involved in Season for Peace and Non-violence, and DC area joint New Thought Choir “One Song”, intergenerational music. Love the outdoors and the book Anam Cara.
