About Me
Born in Chicago, Illinois. I have loved all kinds of music and art since childhood – it was always my escape hatch to a more meditative and shy side. I was an art major who was into figure drawing and sketch art. Taught photography to adult students here in Florida for 10 years. Learned to play guitar at college (my first attempt anyway)with a program sponsored by the university (NIU)at a cost of only $10 for eight weeks! I play several musical instruments such as: guitar, mandolin, banjo nad now a ukeleke. I also own a hammered dulcimer a bowed psaltry that need new strings; ,a djimbe drum rain drum several percussive instuments several Native American flutes. I am a self-professed “every-one-tarian” who loves teaching, mentoring, and just conversing with anyone who will listen. There are many paths to empowerment such as through teaching music, art and the written word. I use all of these methods to share the dream. Masquerading as a computer nerd for a day job and teaching a College Success Skills course at HCC, a local community college in Tampa Florida. But lo in the evening hours and on weekends the singer/songwriter, lyricist and funny person comes out of swimming in the nerd pond and sings in a church choir under the direction of Sue Riley at the Unity Church of Clearwater Florida. Had enough yet? Gotta blow my own horn your know!
