Leanne’s new cd “The Light in You” is delightful & insightful. Artfully produced by Daniel Nahmod, it includes 6 original songs that have been described as: Uplifting, Inspired, and Important. The songs are welcome companions throughout the day. The lyrics include messages such as “Thank You for My Life” and “I Am Enough”, which are powerful mantras to lift spirits and develop a positive sense of self. “Chain Reaction” encourages social action to help create a safe and healthy planet for us all. Leanne is a “self-help-songwriter” with an intention to inspire and empower others with her unique brand of “Pop Psychology”. In mainstream genre terms, her music is soft rock, easy-listening and even children’s music.
How I became a songwriter ~ I was married and had 3 babies to raise when it started happening. As I began journaling to process multiple traumatic events I experienced during my childhood, my journal entries transformed into poems. Melodies began streaming through my head. So, I listened. I attended songwriter seminars, took piano and voice lessons and eventually created my first CD of 10 original songs. I named it “Grace” because I felt that grace had partly led me to that reality. I then found Unity Churches and recognized how my personal spirituality and music were well aligned with the New Thought world. I was invited to perform at Unity Churches around Chicago and then Atlanta when our family relocated.
I’ve spent the past decade training as a yoga, mindfulness and meditation teacher. My yoga classes are slow, gentle, mindful, meditative, healing.
In 2021, I earned a certification as a Holistic Well-Being Coach. I also study and practice NVC (Non-Violent Communication).
