About Me
I got my first guitar upon graduation from the 8th grade . . . that was a LONG time ago! Since then I’ve played guitar around the world, from my home town in California, to Vietnam, to Japan and Hawaii while making my living either as a Marine or as an airline pilot. Now that I’m retired I am pursuing my first love, music . . . writing, performing, and serving as Music Director at Unity of Merced. It took me a long time to get here, but I feel blessed for the journey. I found New Thought back in the 1980’s, and became a Licensed Religious Science Practitioner in 1993. I love the way music reaches a part of us that is sometimes not possible through spoken or written words. I am available as a performer or speaker in the Central California area, and have been know to travel further on occasion . . . I do have some travel benefits from the airlines!
My Interests
I love so many things that I sometimes think I overdo it. Even though I’m 70 years old, for the past 2 years I’ve served a Head JV Baseball Coach at our local High School, while doubling as the Commissioner of American Legion Baseball in Central California. I truly enjoy baseball, but the bigger thrill comes from coaching young players in becoming better people through sports. My guitar has been my lifelong friend and I’ve played in rock, country and jazz bands through the years. Now I’m mostly playing for my church audience, though once a year I entertain my golfing buddies with some parody songs I write. I try to play golf 3 times a week as my social time with my friends. Traveling with my wife to new and interesting places is something I hope to do more of, while spending time with our kids and grandkids. I shoot lots of photos, and have become the duty semi-pro photographer in the family.
