Great music with a positive message can be a little hard to come by these days. Billy Bensing and Kellie Garmire have been working hard to change that. This musical duo is on a mission to pair uplifting songs with charged up rhythms that inspire audiences of all ages. They’re latest CD, “Thoughts”, is an eclectic collection of styles. From Bluegrass to Rock to Flamenco, Bensing and Garmire craft an original sound that is empowering and soul-affirming.
Billy Bensing is an accomplished guitarist and singer/songwriter. He has been performing in the Grass Valley, California area for many years and has been featured on two CD’s by Grammy winning artist, Mary Youngblood. Billy got his start in music busking in the Paris metros in France. He moved to Grass Valley in 1984. Kellie Garmire met Billy when she signed up for guitar lessons. Kellie had been playing guitar and writing songs since she was a young girl but avoided performing because of stage fright. With Billy’s encouragement she began singing backup vocals with him in 2007. Since then they’ve written dozens of songs together and perform throughout the Gold Country in California. Their voices blend in a silky-smooth harmony while their lyrics lift you up to a higher vibration of love, peace, and joy. Truly a delightful combination.
