About Me
Lorenz started his journey in music as a Junior in High School, shortly after he was accepted into the Ravinia Jazz Mentor Program playing Saxophone and learning from Chicagos best talent such as Willie Pickens, Pat Mallinger, Ernie Adams and Bobby Broom. Shortly after, he was awarded a music scholarship for College where he then attended Chicago State University seeking a degree in Music Education and Jazz Studies, studying under Trumpeter Pharez Whitted and Saxophonist Roxanne Stevenson.
Being multi-instrumentalist, he learned to play the piano, compose, music production, recording and other areas of the music industry. Additionally networking and working with various artists allowed him to expand and adapt to a multitude of genres. This propelled his growth not only as a musician but as a person. He’s been blessed by being involved in many projects in his career, ranging from live performance sound, studio recordings, television, and as a theater musician.
He has toured with national and international artists as an independent musician and his bands performing in stages such as House of Blues, being featured in Telemundo as well as Univision and has worked with wonderful artists in his 23 year career.
“Music for me is my mission here, it’s a way of life! A way of being! A continuos search for improvement in
my music and as a human being! Mind and body in sync, creating literally in milliseconds on the empty
canvas of your mind. Once it all aligns, now combined with the love and passion towards music, the
electricity in your body takes over and there is no greater feeling in the world, and to me, that in itself is
success”
