About Me

“I believe strongly in the power of music to bring joy, comfort and positive motivation to people.”
Tom is a board-certified music therapist and licensed mental health counselor and has been a leader in music therapy throughout his career. He has worked as a music therapist for more than 15 years and is
also an accomplished singer/songwriter and guitarist. He has released 11 albums of original, positive music and is also a researcher and published author in journals and books on his work with COPD patients, clinical songwriting and bereavement with children and teens.
Tom is among the presenters at the 2016 National Alliance of Grieving Children Symposium in Indianapolis and a frequent presenter at local, regional and national conference on his work in music therapy. Tom is also the creator of a number of music therapy programs at schools and hospices throughout Florida and is the founder of Camp VITAS, a bereavement camp for children and teens who have lost a loved one.
To hospitals, nursing facilities and homes of his patients and their families, Tom brings his guitar, music and various instruments, but more importantly, he brings empathy, compassion and caring, all of which is communicated through his music.
“Music opens pathways in the brain to memory and emotions,” he explains. “It can change withdrawal and isolation into joyful interaction.”
In addition to providing music therapy services, he continues to write and produce positive music and performs regularly throughout south Florida.
Tom lives with his wife and daughter and five dogs. He is a native Floridian, born in Miami, growing up in West Palm Beach.
